Announcement: Marine Engineer Recruitment at TMC Shipping Pvt Ltd.

TMC Shipping Pvt Ltd. conducts Assessment & Selection for Class XII students (P,C,M, E stream) every year, for shortlisting aspiring and promising students who are keen to join 4 Year B.Tech Marine Engineer Course.

Assessment & Selection includes Interview and Medical test by DGS approved Company Doctor.

Class XII boys who desire to join Merchant Navy as Engine Cadet can Apply Online provided they meet mandatory pre-conditions for admission listed below.

  1. IMU Rank Holder: Must have qualified the IMU CET online Test held on 27th May – 2017
  2. Educational qualification: 10+2 with 60% marks in PCM aggregate & 50% in English.
  3. Age Requirement: Min – 17 Years & Max – 25 Years (As on 1st Aug 2017).

Application Process – Apply online at www.2imu.com/tmc-shipping . Further instruction for the shortlisted candidates for the interview will be sent by the e-mail. Please provide your correct EMAIL ID in online application form.

Note: Candidates must be aware that without passing these, they will not be eligible for selection. Selected candidates will undergo 4 year Pre sea training -Marine Engineering course at D.G Approved Institute. The total course fees for 4 years would be around 14,00000/-.   After successful completion of course, Candidates will be placed as a 5th Engineer /Engine Cadet onboard ship managed by TMC Shipping Pvt Ltd.

Placement on board ships is subject to successful completion of 4-year B.Tech Marine Engineering Course and passing fresh Medical tests (as applicable) immediately prior joining a vessel. Engine Cadets are placed on board ships managed by TMC Shipping Pvt Ltd.and it’s subsidiary companies.

Career Prospects:

Candidates will be able to serve in vessels managed by TMC Shipping Pvt Ltd

Career Progression as follows (subject to passing Govt MMD exams for promotion):

Engine Cadet (abt 4years) – 4th Engineer (abt 1 years)  – 3rd Engineer (abt 2 years) – 2nd Engineer (abt 3 years) – Chief Engineer.

Selection Procedure:

Step 1 – Only those who meet Mandatory Pre-Conditions given below will be accepted for Registration. Those interested & eligible should  Apply online for Sponsorship Cum Selection Test for Marine Engineering 2017 at www.2imu.com/tmc-shipping .

Step 2 – Shortlisted students will be called for interviews and medicals with the sponsoring companies.

Step 3 – Successful candidates need to submit Demand Draft of  Rs 1,00,000/- towards seat booking in favor of “TMC Shipping Pvt Ltd.” . Further Admission Letter & Joining Instructions by TMC Shipping Pvt Ltd. & Sponsorship letter by the shipping company will be issued.

Step 4 – Payment of Fee as per details given in the Admission Letter.

Step 5 – Report for the course at Park Maritime Academy as per instructions in the Admission Letter.

Candidates must meet all requirements of the company as well as those laid out by Indian Maritime University / Director General of Shipping.
No candidate can appear more than once each year for the company’s selection exam.
The company’s decision on selection will be binding and cannot be challenged.
Any false declaration or documents will result in the candidate being disqualified.

Pass in (10+2) or Equivalent examination withPhysics(P), Chemistry(C), Mathematics(M)and English as separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60%. The candidates should have obtained with minimum of 50% marks in English language at 10th or 12th Standard.

Should be physically fit for sea service under standard norms.

3 YEARS(FOR LATERAL ENTRY)

Candidate can join 2nd year of 4-Year Marine Engineering Degree Course provided he has passed 1st year training from the Alternate Training Scheme, approved by D.G. Shipping (This will not be applicable to MERI.)

25 Years

Candidates can join 2nd year of 4-Year Marine Engineering Degree Course who have passed 1st year from the Engineering College in other streams like Mechanical or Electrical approved by AICTE with minimum 60% average marks.

Candidates can join 2nd year of 4-Year Marine Engineering
Degree Course who have passed 3 years Diploma Course in Mechanical / Marine / Electrical/ Electrical and Electronics from the colleges approved by AICTE (or) State Board of Technical Education with minimum 55% of aggregate marks in the last year of Diploma Course.

(i) Mechanical Engineering stream – Three years Diploma in (a) Automobile engineering; (b) Machine tools and Maintenance/ Plant Engineering; (c) Production technology; (d) Production engineering; (e) Advanced diploma in tool and die making.

(ii)  Electrical Engineering Stream- Three years Diploma in Electrical Power System.

After completion of four year marine Engineering course and four-Modular courses successfully, the student is eligible, to be appointed as Junior Engineer on Merchant Ships. On completion of the stipulated period on ships and after passing the required competency Examination conducted by the Directorate General of Shipping, Govt. of India or Marine Administration of other governments, the Engineer becomes a Chief Engineer of a ship within 5 to 6 years.

BE Marine Engineering – 4 years course
(Course Commencement Aug 2017)

Approved by The Directorate General of ShippingGovernment of India. Leading to Class IV Marine Engineer Officer Certificate of Competency awarded by the D.G. Shipping, Ministry of Shipping, Government of India after six months of Sea Service. This enables the cadets to become Marine Engineers on board Merchant Navy Ships worldwide.

Course Duration: 4 years or 8 semesters residential course.

Eligibility Criteria:

Qualification: A pass in Plus-two (12th Standard) or its equivalent, with minimum 60% aggregate in Maths, Physics and Chemistry group and at least 50% marks in English.

Age:  Below 25 years at the time of commencement of the course.

Gender: Boys and Girls are eligible to apply.

Medical Standard: Candidates should be physically fit for sea service under standard norms, with eyesight up to 6/12 in both eyes or 6/9 in better eye, 6/18 in other eye and with no color blindness.

Diploma students can join second year of regular B.Tech Marine Engineering course. This course for Diploma students will be a three years residential programme, structured into six academic semesters.

Eligibility for Diploma Students:

Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Marine with 55% marks in final year or passed first year of engineering degree from Mechanical/Electrical stream with 60% marks from the college recognized by AICTE.
